就差你这一韭了!
It's actually quite simple. I've shared some of the things in my public account and in my brain before, right? First of all, I'm not kidding. After watching that movie, I know what it means.
I think it's very important to build awareness. Different awareness will actually lead to different behavioral patterns and even some final results. How do you view learning English? The first part is about this.
From my personal point of view, language is a tool. Its purpose is to communicate with people, including the transmission of information. Everyone can master this thing.
We don't want to talk about it here. We don't want to talk about blind people, deaf people, or people like that. So everyone can master it.
It's not a science. You don't need to study, you don't even need to think about it, right? So basically, you just need to get used to it. It's like selling oil.
It's like a manual. You just need to pour the oil into the pot for 10 years, and you'll be able to do it like him. It's as simple as that.
As long as you spend the time, you can do it. In other words, as long as you spend the time, you'll get something out of it. I've been talking to some of the people here over the past few days.
We all have a common goal. We all have a common characteristic. You'll notice it yourself.
In the whole process of learning English, we've been learning it piece by piece. It's the same for me. I wanted to learn English every year. Then I picked up the textbook and started with the word A. Abandon.
That's it. So when we actually invest time in English, I think most people don't even have 50 hours. How can you get an ideal result when you don't even have 50 hours? I don't think it's realistic.
It's not like there are some other skills that you can master. It's not like you can master any skill. Some things are like that, but language is not. Because it's just an accumulation of things.
For example, if we take Chinese as an example, there are probably hundreds of primary school students who know how to read. There are thousands of them. And then there are thousands of Chinese characters.
You always need time. For example, we would learn something like reading financial novels. There were also some old Chinese novels.
It's actually a lot of time to get familiar with the language. Including our daily communication. In fact, the reason why the native language is so fluent is that you spend a lot of time So you know, as long as you spend time, you will gain something.
But it is a long-term process of investment. What does that mean? It takes a long time. Because we really need to calculate it ourselves every day.
The probability of everyone learning English for an average of half an hour is actually very low. Very few people can do that. When you don't have enough investment, how can you look at its output and say, how do I think I should reach level 4, level 6, or a 7-point AS standard? You really don't have enough investment.
And its output is also relatively slow. It's not like I just memorized 100 words today and I got it right away. No.
Because it is a very comprehensive ability to use, or an experience. So its output is relatively slow. It's the same as learning mother tongue.
So you have to have that kind of understanding. So when we go to learn later, in the past, because everyone may have had the experience of learning at school, then the learning of the school is more visual learning, with words and grammar as the main focus. This is actually a basic rule that goes against the normal learning language.
I later found that this thing is right for children to learn like this, but adults can't learn like this. Actually, it's not. It's just that that's what the school calls it.
It's really conservative. So we dug a big hole in the back. When you really want to break it, you'll find it very difficult.
But from now on, let's say you're a blank sheet of paper. Or if you're a little baby today, in English, if you're a little baby, you can learn like this. There's no problem with that, right? It reminds me of my own skiing experience.
I used to think about it myself, and then I got off the black road. I thought it was amazing. In the end, I really went to the system to learn.
I found myself very stupid before. It's especially painful to correct And all the movements are stipulated. Even if you're a negative fan, because you're doing it with the wrong habit, you're much slower than people who haven't learned it.
But when you get used to it later, you'll find a lot of things. There will be accumulation. And then slowly, it's going to get to some point.
And then a lot of things are going to improve quickly. That's right. So we're going to use this method to learn.
And then the second one is about the purpose of our so-called community. I've talked to you about it, including my own experience, including some of the results of our early first phase. Because we don't really know.
We don't really know. It's also a matter of learning to gradually improve the whole method or something like that. Let's see how we can do this.
So our core is actually to deal with the last one. Is it possible to create an environment where everyone can continue to invest their time in learning English? Only if you really spend time and continue to invest, you will naturally have results. It's not that I've got some idea today.
Right? I bought a textbook. And then what can I do? Actually, it's not. It's mainly how you can really invest and continue to invest time.
And everyone's situation will be different. Some people before are more outgoing, right? Or some people are thick-skinned, right? So he will practice a little more. Some people like to talk a lot.
Some people will be more introverted. Everyone's starting point is different. Some people may learn from an early age.
Some people may only get in touch with it now. And then it's different to invest. Some people may spend a few hours.
Some people may only have five minutes a day, right? And it's very short. So you don't have to compare with other people or compare with others. You just have to compare with yourself.
And then you just have to understand this principle. In this environment, I hope it's positive, relaxing, and mutually beneficial. What do I mean? Since we're here to learn, I don't want this thing to be very painful and stressful.
Even if it goes against the real learning, or even some of the original intentions, we still hope to be able to relax and have fun. In the end, we will get a result that we agree with. So overall, we need to be positive.
We won't say, hey, you didn't do a good job. That person didn't practice well. Don't do that.
I think we should encourage more because we need some feedback. This is right. And then the whole process will be easier.
We're not that serious. I'm not a teacher. We're just training each other.
We're just training each other. It's easier that way. So we encourage each other because whether we're in a group or we're practicing, we all share some of our own learning experiences and resources, including giving each other some feedback.
I think these things are actually helpful. This is a value of the community. And you can get some feedback and get some support.
But overall, I hope it's an impact. Otherwise, why would we come here and spend time and money to suffer? It's not necessary. So this is the purpose of the community.
I think it's also its value. Whether we can provide enough value to this side or whether everyone agrees with it, I think we will be able to feel it This is because it's not like some of the other classes, for example, if you bought a class on 1.99 or signed up for a class and just wrote a blank page, it's kind of empty. Maybe you can feel it in the process.
So in the whole learning process, there are a few suggestions, including some empty ones on the mentality and some specific things on the method. I'll talk about it here. In order to make it fair, I found a few words You just need to look at it and understand what it means.
Sometimes you don't have to look at the words. It means we need to dare to say more. Because in fact, everyone's weaknesses are in the whole vocabulary.
So how do you improve this? It's not that you read more and memorize more words. No, it's just that you have to practice. It's like I'm talking here today.
In the past, there was a lot of similar practice. I didn't have it in school. Because I was introverted at that time.
I'm introverted now, but I'm forced now. In work and later in life, you have to open your mouth. So you'll have more.
So when I said the bug to add three minutes, I said casually, I didn't say a name here. How much did you say? You actually have to say more. I feel like we are now in the whole group.
According to the CEFR grade, we are basically A and B level learners. And then I corresponded to say that it's really not better than this native speaker's four-year-old or six-year-old child. We won't say it's better than them.
That's for sure. Because I'm there. I see how they talk.
You really didn't say it well. So don't give yourself a burden. Oh, my accent is not good.
That's not good. You're definitely not as good as them. You just explained it.
It takes time, including your own mouth, a few sentences of English. It's much worse than others. Right? So here, don't give yourself a burden.
Because there's nothing to be ashamed of. It's not a shameful thing. It's a real situation.
Right? So don't think about how embarrassed you are. Just open your mouth and say it. So it's not just about opening your mouth.
Just look at the next one. Just do it. Don't worry about it.
It's like what Bug said. Or when we were talking with some people, when we asked some questions, they asked you to pause. At this time, my most important advice to you is not to think about the correct sentence.
You want to build a sentence first and then read it. What you should do is to learn English thinking or learn a real language. There's no real translation in the middle.
It's more about a very short response. It's a response. Maybe this response is very instant.
It's an instant response. It's different from writing and reading. Because it will give you time to think or even change.
But you don't have much time to think. So even if I ask you a question today, what do you think about the Nara incident? You don't have to make a sentence. Just think of a word or an English word.
Even if you have to jump out of the sentence. So there are two things. First, jump out of the sentence.
Second, try not to pause. If you pause, it's not because you don't have a word. It's because you're making a sentence.
You don't have to do that. Just express it. For example, you're in a crisis.
You're drowning. You've been knocked down. The fire is coming to you.
You don't have time to think. You can't make a sentence. Just jump out of the sentence.
Right? First, jump out of the sentence. Don't pause. When you jump out of the sentence, you'll be able to express yourself better.
I'm sure you understand what I mean. It's like a child. At first, he won't make a sentence.
But don't pause. He'll correct it later. Right? It's like swimming.
When you're thrown into the water, whether you can't go down or stay on top, you have to stay in that state. Then you practice your movements. And your movements won't be right at first.
Why do we have to practice? Only with time, you will gradually improve your movements. You can't say, when I learn the standard swimming, I'll move. At that time, you'll be drowned to death.
I think you can understand what I mean. The third point is about two extremes. At that time, some of you will be lucky to be in the same group as the director in the first episode.
You will see that he has two characteristics. The first characteristic is that he is shameless. The second characteristic is that he is good at acting.
He has to act in everything he does. But I think this kind of learning is highly recommended. If you can do this, it's the best.
Because the effect will be very good. Then you will be positive, and you won't feel like you can't do it. You just have to practice hard.
It's very exaggerated. Every practice, every learning, is like a game of experience. There is no burden.
We don't need to say, sorry, because you may have stopped for a long time, or you may have said something wrong. It doesn't matter. We are here to learn.
You must make mistakes. If you don't make mistakes, you won't know what is right. But what is worse than making mistakes is that you don't have any output.
If you say, I don't dare, I know I said something wrong, or I don't have words, you must do this first. And you don't need to apologize, because we are actually a process of learning from each other. You will make mistakes, and I will make mistakes, including when I was interviewing or testing, I knew what I said was wrong.
Right? Maybe he didn't understand. If I say it again, I am still wrong, but it doesn't matter. The goal is to communicate.
He probably knows what you mean. And then you will improve in the later stages and make it better. So this is my mental suggestion.
I think this is especially important. A lot of things are based on some of the methods and I think it's a good idea to take a look when you have time. But if you don't want to, it's okay, because I have listed all the important parts and talked about some of my personal experiences.
So, in terms of the whole learning process, we will... I don't think there is any order. I don't think there is any order. He has seven rules, and I have seven rules.
Everyone will be a little different. I think since we are going to learn, as a first language, or a language-born learning rule, if we follow such a rule, we will recommend that everyone still focus on a large amount of input. Because only when you have a large amount of input can you possibly do the output.
Right? Just like a child. If he doesn't even know what more than ten fruits are, he doesn't know what he wants. For example, banana or I want to eat an apple.
You don't even know what that fruit is called. You can only say, oh, this, this, that, that. Right? Only when you have enough input can you possibly do the output.
But for many of us, or for all of us, I looked at some of your tests. Some people have less vocabulary, and some people have less hearing. At this time, it will be very difficult for you to do the language practice I just mentioned.
Right? I just explained why your vocabulary may not be good enough. Because you don't even have enough input. Then we will focus on hearing.
Because in the past, we have learned a lot in terms of visual, in terms of translation. In fact, we still need to turn to learning in terms of hearing and the mode of instinctive reaction. This is our real weak point, but it is also something that really meets the rules.
Okay, the second point is not that we don't memorize vocabulary. Right? We can say that we don't learn language, but we don't say that we don't memorize vocabulary. But when we memorize vocabulary, we try our best to look at its meaning.
Right? And when you look at a word, you should at least look at one or two of its examples. You should know how it is used. You may not need to look at some nouns because they are very simple.
You know what they are. Especially some adjectives, adverbs, and other things. You should know how they are used.
This is something that you should pay special attention to. As for grammar, to be honest, some things are quite simple, including what we normally use, which are some common tenses, such as the general tense, the past tense, and the present tense. These don't matter, but we don't normally use them.
Especially when we focus on listening and vocabulary, we don't really use them. And I also agree with one way, which is the Chinese grammar rules. I can't remember.
I'm not good at it. Chinese grammar rules, such as Zhu Weibin, I don't even know what Zhu Weibin is. But it doesn't affect my speaking.
It doesn't affect my reading. So in this part, if you have enough input, it will naturally have a pattern. You will know what kind of tenses it will use to do something.
Even if you don't even know what those tenses are called, it doesn't matter. Okay? So the third point is something we don't need to worry about. The fourth point is that I recommend repeating over and over again.
It's like a line in a Chinese TV series. And only by repeating can you really get used to it and really master and apply what you've learned. And it's the simplest and most effective way.
So I suggest, including some of the articles we've read before or some sentences we've practiced, you may want to practice it several times, even including some short sentences. You may practice it 100 times, and you'll probably get the hang of it. You will naturally reflect something. You'll know what you're saying when you say it.
It's very normal. And in the process of learning, we don't need to... For example, in the expression of words, I still recommend... Maybe you're already very skilled or very good at it. It's better to be slower, accurate, and better.
What does that mean? There are three points. First, we need to slow down as much as possible, including your pronunciation and other things. You need to slow down and feel it yourself.
Instead of doing it to complete a task, you need to see if you feel or learn something So, first, you need to slow down. Second, we need to be more accurate, especially when it comes to word pronunciation. I've heard a lot of people say that only a small number of people can pronounce it in a way that is close to standard American pronunciation.
Others may have some accent or may not know what the teacher taught them Right? It's kind of Chinglish. You need to practice these things. It's not a big deal, but if you can pronounce it accurately, it will solve a lot of problems.
That's what it means. It's kind of like money. You can't live without money.
You can live without money, but you can solve a lot of problems. What's better is that every time you practice, even if it's just a repetition, you can improve your performance a little bit. Right? You are repeating. Theoretically, you should do better than you did the first time.
That's what it means. The fifth point is the right degree of difficulty and the right degree of breadth. The right degree of difficulty is actually related to your level.
You have to learn something The problem is that 80% or 90% of it is easy to digest. Only about 10% is difficult. You may not understand the words, or you don't understand a sentence at all.
In this process, you will learn something that is comfortable and easy to learn. If you heard a sentence that was very fast or full of vocabulary, for example, I had a similar experience before. I didn't understand 90% of it.
I didn't understand any of it. I just looked at the textbook and guessed. Then you can't achieve a better learning effect.
So we did some tests before, including the textbook choices You have to choose 80% of what you want to learn and 20% of what you want to know. This is a relatively new and difficult thing. The second sentence is actually quite broad. This means that English is not just about grasping these words or grasping a certain scene.
For example, if you go abroad, you only need to know how to talk to the editor or how to talk to the counter. No, it's not like that. Because the scene is everywhere and the topic is everywhere.
Some people talk about movies, some people talk about novels, some people talk about hobbies, some people talk about life. When you really want to get into something, you will find that you may be particularly familiar with all the grammatical terms and technical terms. Once you jump out to another field, for example, you will be familiar with all the words.
So it needs a certain breadth. In fact, it has its own problems. It's not perfect, but the good thing about it is that it covers 180 units and covers a variety of things.
So in any of them, you can probably find something that is not completely unfamiliar to you in this field. So we will have a fairly broad requirement. Maybe you will read some different things, whether it's news, biology, technology, or humanities.
You may want to get in touch with all of them. The sixth one is to focus on your interests. Whether it's the material you need or something else, it's best if it's something you're interested in.
It's not something given to you, but it may sound boring. Even though it's a good thing, you need to find something you're interested in. For example, if you like art, you may look for something related to art.
You may like movies. You may like science fiction. You may look for something like that.
That's how you can get into it. This is very important. And then use your wisdom to explain this.
We're not here to learn or do academic papers. It's best if we find some practical scenarios. I'll help you find some later.
In the process of actually applying it, it forces you to learn it. For example, I posted a photo yesterday. I got to the hotel, and the queue was really fast.
I couldn't keep up. I kept saying yes. I don't know why I said yes.
Whatever he said, I said yes. Then he gave me a list. I looked at it, and there were a lot of things in it.
On the plane, there were a lot of signs. A lot of them were OK. At the airport.
These things are practical. When you're going to use it, you have to force yourself to know how to use it. I went abroad to get a driver's license.
You have to know how it works. You may look it up on the Internet. In the process of actually using it, you have to force yourself to learn it.
After you learn it, you eat it and use it. Then you learn it. That's what it means.
The seventh one is an output. This output not only refers to our spoken language, but also includes some things that some people may be interested in writing. There is only one output.
If I wrote an article today, or if I said something today, you can record it yourself. Can I say it better? Can I make it better? Can I make it better? Can I express it better? You have to think about it over and over again. How can I make it more concise? How can I make it more accurate? How can I make myself better? That's the concept.
This is a preliminary, or a long-term process. But you need to be aware of it. That's how you do it.
OK. That's all for the specific methods. I hope that I have given you some suggestions. Of course, we also talked about mutual benefits and so on.
If you have better methods or personal experiences, you can share them in the future. This is a... Because I'm not a teacher. My opinion and experience are not perfect, or absolutely correct, or absolutely wrong.
That's why you can give each other feedback and support. That's one of the conditions. OK.
The fourth one, our specific practice, is related to the following things. First of all, we will have a general group. Today, most of you have already set up your own learning plan.
There will be an overall plan later. The overall plan is very vague. What do you want to do in six months? You can think about it.
In the future, you'd better spend more time on your goals. To be more specific, it's a monthly plan. If you set up this plan and think about it, at the end of each week and at the end of each month, you will see how much difference there is between what you set up and what you want to do.
In the end, depending on your plan and your group, we will give you some suggestions for learning content. In the past, we used to follow one textbook and one content. But later on, we found out that there were some problems that didn't match.
At that time, we used to read more books. Although there are books, there aren't that many. Today, we have more people than before, so there is a big difference. So, my suggestion is to set up your own plan based on your personal situation.
It will be very easy for you. As I said before, we are focusing on continuous learning. So, I will just give you some suggestions. First, I hope you can spend at least 10 minutes a day, preferably more than an hour.
Then, your check-in will be a record of your learning during this period. It doesn't matter whether you write down what you learned today or take a picture and say, I read this article today. Or you can say, I heard a video today and I want to read it with him.
The threshold of check-in is actually very low. Because we are not a serious education. We don't have to set up a high threshold to pay everyone.
It's not realistic. But it's up to you to set up a high threshold. And check-in, we check-in every day.
It's a record of your learning. Only if you have this record, others will give you some feedback and help, including yourself. To be honest, it depends on each person.
You may finish a check-in in a minute or even five seconds. You may say, I read this book today, and I finished two pages. Right? Or you can be very complicated and say, I wrote an article with thousands of words today.
It's okay. As I said, it's totally up to you. Then we have some specific tasks. This is one of our... It's not really a menu.
Some may be reading. It's different. Some may be learning an article together.
Or completing a video analysis. Or, for example, last week, this week, this week, in our first episode, everyone has to have a five-minute vocabulary practice. Right? And we may have an imitation before.
Every week, there will be some different things to change. To put it bluntly, through different dimensions, different themes, everyone has to practice. This is different from the daily opening.
The daily opening has a very low threshold. And every week, there will be a little bit of direction or a certain level of difficulty or challenge. I don't know.
Because we used to give everyone a task and found that the difficulty level didn't go up to 1. It went up to 0. A lot of people can't tell. But it's quite interesting. As for the fourth one, every month, we will have a review, a test, and a feedback.
After this month, how did everyone learn? Some things will be checked. For example, when some people do a test with me, I will ask you to explain what you think in this article. Can you explain a word? Something like that.
Then, you will know how you learned every month. Then, we will test and see if there are any improvements. Something like that.
At the end, we will have a group. In addition to the group, we will also have a big group like today. We will have a group leader.
He is mainly to check the state of the card. I will also look at some of your results and give some suggestions and feedback. So the overall structure is quite simple.
Yes. That's basically it. I think this is a basic plan.
Okay. Let's see if there are any questions. Okay.
That's all for today.
